SyFy in co-production with NBC Universal Cable and Netflix has confirmed a straight to TV series order on NIGHTFLYERS. Netflix will have first-run rights outside of the United States.
Andrew McCarthy (“Orange is the New Black”) will be director/producer. The pilot will be directed by Mike Cahill (“I Origins”, “The Magicians”). Dan Cerone (“Dexter,” “Blacklist,” “The Mentalist”) will be the showrunner.
The strong TV cast includes Gretchen Mol (“Boardwalk Empire”, “The Notorious Bettie Page”) as Dr. Agatha Matheson, Jodie Turner-Smith (“The Last Ship”, “True Blood”) as Melantha Jhirl, Eoin Macken (“The Night Shift”, “Merlin”) as Karl D’Branin, David Ajala (“Jupiter Ascending”, “Fast & Furious 6”) as Roy Eris, Sam Strike (“Eastenders”, “Mindhunter”) as Thale, Maya Eshet (“Teen Wolf”, “Scandal”) as Lommie, Angus Samson (“Fargo”, “Mad Max: Fury Road”) as Rowan, and Brian F. O’ Byrne (“The Magicians”, “Million Dollar Baby”) as Auggie.
